The annual Presidents’ v Captains’ match held on Bank Holiday Monday
28th August was, in my view, an unqualified success due in no small measure to the near miraculous Bank Holiday sunshine. 36 players took part and I thank them for their participation and punctuality in what was without doubt a most enjoyable afternoon’s bowling and sociable evening, plus a fish and chip supper (Captains won 110 – 84). My thanks are extended to my co-
Captain Len Batchelor, Jean Gorf for the food extras and Reg and Beryl Cook for serving the afternoon tea and biscuits. It was also pleasing to see several former members of both clubs in attendance throughout the afternoon and also Carol Melvin, our Lady Mayor, and Consort.

Enjoy what remains of the season.

On a lighter note we had a most enjoyable mixed match at home against Oxhey at the end of August. Former members of our Clubs Dave and Heather O’Sullivan were playing and looking well. We lost the match 77-
